City of Northlake City Council Met April 5.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on March 15, 2021. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on March 15, 2021; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE MARCH 15, 2021

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the warrants and vouchers; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED
Mayor Sherwin stated there will be fireworks at Grant Park on June 26 with a rain date of June 27. However, due to COVID-19, there will again be no car show or carnival. Infrastructure work has begun. King Arthur bridge work has begun. The former Tribune Direct building will be demolished and replaced with a new data center. Everyone was reminded to vote tomorrow.
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the Engineer’s Recommendation to award the bid for Centerpointe Bioswale to Earthworks Land Improvements, Inc. in the amount of $35,800.00; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO APPROVE THE ENGINEER’S RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD THE BID FOR CENTERPOINTE BIOSWALE TO EARTHWERKS LAND IMPROVEMENTS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,800.00 CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve a Raffle License to Sell Tickets for 2021 Daughters of Devine Love Development Ministry; seconded by Alderman Gonzalez. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Alderman Straube made a motion to approve Ordinance O-10-2021; An Ordinance Establishing Additional License Fee Requirements for Liquor Licenses and Amending Section 3-1-5 of the Northlake City Code; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-10-2021; AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ADDITIONAL LICENSE FEE REQUIREMENTS FOR LIQUOR LICENSES AND AMENDING SECTION 3-1-5 OF THE NORTHLAKE CITY CODE CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to refer to the City of Northlake Zoning Board of Appeals and Plan Commission; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. In order to build a 16’ wide x 45’ deep garage after demo of existing garage, requesting the building of a new garage 1.5 feet off lot line where existing garage currently sits. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.
