4.1 Village of Berkeley Partner Agency Annual Reports
4.1.1 Berkeley Little League – Coach Lenny informed the Board that due to the Pandemic, Baseball is moving slowly. They have one little league team (10-12 yrs. Old) two High School teams (Freshman – Sophomore) & (Junior-Senior) and one t-ball team. All others will not happen this year due to incomplete teams. Coach Lenny is requesting the same monetary donation as last year from the Village to pay for umpires, concession stand will not be open, as well as other financial obligations for baseball. May 2, 2021 Opening Day next to school baseball field.

9.1 Administration, Zoning and Technology (Chair –Trustee Graf-Stone; Co Chair Trustee Washington)
9.1.1 Trustee Liaison Report – Trustee Graf-Stone gave an update on a few things that the Administration team has been working on. They continue to work on the Cell Tower agreements, Trustee Graf-Stone thanked them for their continued work on the Corona Virus updates and most recent the vaccine clinics, it went seamlessly. Hats off to all that participated in putting it together. They also worked on finalizing the budget.

9.2.2 Motion to Approve an Ordinance of the Village of Berkeley, Cook County, Illinois Adopting the Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2021 and Ending April 30, 2022.
Village Administrator Rudy Espiritu gave a broad overview of the upcoming budget. He highlighted that the next year’ budget is balanced. He also highlighted that the Village will be receiving funds from the Federal Government from the recent passage of the American Restoration Plan Act.

Police Chief Larem - After reviewing four different Red-Light camera vendors and careful consideration, Police Larem chose Vera Mobility. A fixed price will cover all lanes. Other Municipalities use them (example: River Forest, Maywood, Lincolnwood, and others).
Police Chief Larem - After reviewing three Body camera vendors and after careful consideration, Police Chief Larem chose to go with BodyWorn. They have unlimited cloud storage, integrates with existing tech, fixed price for five years, user-friendly, as well as other features.

Fire Chief Kuryla explained why the extension is requested and said that they will work better on getting information (example: Fire Sprinkler System needed/required) on the website for all buildings prior to property being sold/purchased.

Neighborhood Watch – Meeting 3rd Wednesday each month.
Lion’s Club are having virtual meetings.
Hillside/Berkeley Chamber – are having Zoom meetings.
Historical Society – President Lee will update Trustee Perez
Village Picnic – Will discuss next Board meeting.
10 Village President
10.1 President’s Report
10.1.1 4/15/2021 Joint Village/Park District Meeting at 6:30 p.m.
10.1.2 4/20/2021 Village Board Meeting at 6:30 p.m.
President Lee informed the Board that all are invited to the joint meeting with Park District on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 6:30 pm. Thank you to the Park District for having the Village assist in achieving their goals. Last Baseball Parade from Berkeley to District 87 on opening day May 2, 2021. They will follow Social Distancing recommendations to protect residents and guests. The Batting Cage will be relocated. Superintendent Wagner informed the Board that around May 6th some accommodations to complete for the school project has been requested. Thank you to staff, PD, Fire Dept, Park Dist., and especially resident Cori Davis for the vaccination sites that took place in Lind Park. They have done two and one more for tomorrow, April 7th. Residents really appreciated it. Congratulations to Trustee Grenier and Village Clerk Rivera for their service. Congratulations to our new Trustee, Jason Matthews and Village Clerk, Belia Nowak, Library and Park District elected officials. The Library is doing great things, check them out.
11 Village Administrator – Congratulations to all elected. Zoning meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. All are invited.
Covid is going back up, please use precaution and stay safe. Thank you to everyone that helped put the Vaccination site set up, registration, etc.
12 Village Attorney – No report.
13 Public Comments and Questions
Dan O’Connor, Resident – 1 - Some residents did not receive robo-call. Assistant to Administrator Miller responded that sometimes there are glitches with the system. If anyone is not getting their robo-call, please contact Assistant to Administrator Justyn Miller.
2 – 5440 St. Charles is an eye sore to the Village. Police Chief Larem responded that they are working on the problem.
