Village of Broadview Board of Trustees Met March 1.

I. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Board Meeting was called to order by Mayor Thompson at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at 2350 South 25th Avenue, Broadview, IL 60155.
ROLL CALL
Upon roll call by Kevin McGrier, Village Clerk, the following answered Present: Trustee(s) J. Abraham, A. Senior, V. Horne, J. Tierney, J. Miller, Mayor Thompson Absent: S. Jones
There being a quorum the meeting was called to order.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO FLAG
Everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

A. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN CGI COMMUNICATIONS, INC. AND THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW, COUNTY OF COOK, STATE OF ILLINOIS.
Motion to approve by Trustee Tierney and Seconded by Trustee Senior
Discussion: Mayor Thompson and Trustee Miller thanked CGI for providing additional information on the agreement requested from last meeting.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW AND THE COUNTY OF COOK REGARDING THE GRANT OF TRANSPORTATION FUNDS THROUGH THE INVEST IN COOK PROGRAM FOR THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW, COUNTY OF COOK, STATE OF ILLINOIS Motion to approve by Trustee Tierney and Seconded by Trustee Abraham
Discussion: Mayor Thompson asked Chris Baker from Hancock Engineering to give details of the resolution. Mayor asked for the dollar amount. Chris Baker answered. Trustees Horne and Miller had questions, Mayor Thompson answered Trustee Horne and Chris Baker answered Trustee Miller.

VII. NEW BUSINESS:
A. A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2021 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION.

Discussion: Mayor Thompson asked Chris Baker to give details about the CDBG grant. Trustee Horne had a question answered by Mayor Thompson.

VIII. APPLICATION (S) FOR THE AUTHORITY TO EXPEND FUNDS: NONE
IX. PRESENTATIONS:
• PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR – MATTHEW AMES
(Gave a presentation regarding snow removal and equipment conditions at public works.) Trustee Horne had a concern and question regarding fines and fees supposedly assessed to the Park District. Mayor Thompson and Director Ames cleared up the misinformation being spread. There were no fines or levys. Trustee Senior, Miller and Abraham thanked Director Ames for the clarification and the good work that Public Works did during these record snowfalls.
• BUILDING COMMISSIONER – DAVID UPSHAW
(Gave a presentation regarding snow removal contractors, 50/50 flood control program and also the Park District basketball court project and lastly the Senior Housing project)
Trustee Horne had concerns and comments regarding the Senior Building project. Commissioner Upshaw and Attorney Vasselli both confirmed that the VILLAGE does in fact own the land contrary to the belief of certain Board members. Trustees Tierney, Senior, Miller and Abraham thanked Commissioner Upshaw for his presentation.
