City of Northlake issued the following announcement on Dec. 6.

The City of Northlake placed three questions on the November 3, 2020 ballot:

Gas Stations.  Question: Shall the City of Northlake allow the serving and consumption of alcoholic beverages at gas stations within the City of Northlake?

The “No” votes were 63.51% and the “Yes” votes were 36.49%.  As a result of this outcome, the City of Northlake will not allow alcohol to be served at gas stations so that their locations can have video gambling machines.

The “Yes” votes were 65.81%.  The “No” votes were 34.19%.  The City will use this as guidance in the future when purchasing new vehicles.

Proviso High School. Question: Should the City of Northlake assist with efforts to detach that portion of Northlake lying south of North Avenue from Proviso Township High School District 209 so that the entire City will be in the same high school district?

The “Yes” votes were 71.57%. The “No” votes were 28.49%.  The City will assist residents who are interested in pursuing detachment from the Proviso High School District.
