Village of Schiller Park Committee of the Whole President and Board of Trustees met July 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER: President Nick Caiafa called the meeting to order at 6:07 P.M.

II. ROLL CALL: 

Upon a call of the roll by Village Clerk Jos, the following Elected Officials were: 

Present: President Nick Caiafa, Trustees: Moses Diaz, Russell Klug, Joan Golembiewski, Tom Deegan, Robert Lima, Terri Sheridan, and Village Clerk Rosa Jos

Absent: None 

Clerk Jos declared a quorum present. 

Also present: Corporate Counsel Joe Montana, Interim Village Manager Dave Strahl, Tony Anczer, John Bealer, Brian Bursiek, Peter Chiodo, Tom Fragakis, and Janet Matthys 

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

1. Trustee Golembiewski moved, seconded by Trustee Sheridan that the MINUTES of the Committee of the Whole Meeting of June 18, 2020 be approved. 

Upon roll call the following voted: 

Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima, and Sheridan 

Absent: None 

Nay: None

President Caiafa declared the motion carried. 

IV. PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD:

No one to be heard. No written public comment was received by the Clerk's Office. 

V. BUSINESS: 

1. False Alarm Fees - Fire Department staff recommends adopting a new ordinance to adjust emergency service user fees. 

2. Census Grant Update - The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus 2020 Census is offering a small additional grant to assist the Village with Census outreach. 

3. Walking Route Review - Recreation Department staff gave a presentation regarding the One Mile Walking routes; this consists of 6 different 1-mile routes located in different neighborhoods throughout the Village. He also noted a few additional Recreation Department events.

4. Alcohol in Gas Stations - Several gas stations in the Village have requested permission for the sale of alcohol in their establishment; Board consensus is not to allow the sale of alcohol in gas stations. 

5. Development Update - Mayor Caiafa noted that additional meetings will take place to determine future development projects.

6. Financial Matters - Finance staff stated that the department is preparing for the annual audit that will be starting July 27, 2020. 7. Status of Infrastructure Improvement Projects - Staff gave an update on all current and upcoming improvement projects as well as viaduct improvements.

VII. EXECUTIVE SESSION: There was no Executive Session.

VIII. ADJOURNMENT: With no further business to conduct, it was moved by Trustee Golembeiwski, seconded by Trustee Sheridan, that the Committee of the Whole Meeting be adjourned.

Upon roll call the following voted: 

Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima, and Sheridan 

Absent: None 

Nay: None 

President Caiafa declared the motion carried and this Committee of the Whole Meeting was adjourned at 6:56 P.M.
