City of Northlake issued the following announcement on Aug. 14.
Election day is November 3, 2020. As is always true, this is a very important election. It is, first of all, for the president of the United States. There will also be other candidates and important referendums. Your vote does count.
If you have not yet registered to vote, or recently changed your address, you can register on line. The Illinois State Board of Elections’ on line voter registration application can be found at:
https://ova.elections.il.gov/
You must be a United States Citizen.
You must turn 18 on or before the date of the General or Consolidated Election
You must live in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day
You must not be serving a sentence of confinement in any penal institution as a result of a conviction
You may not claim the right to vote anywhere else.
After registering to vote, you can request an application to vote by mail in the November election. To do so, go to https://www.cookcountyclerk.com/agency/vote-mail. It only takes a few minutes to fill out the application.
Voting is your right and responsibility as a citizen. Please exercise it.
