Analysis: Berwyn pays $1.35 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Berwyn Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 57.2 percent of the $2,490,150 the Berwyn Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $1.35 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Berwyn contributed $1,424,327 to the fund, which saw a $171,942 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,048,673, or 42.1 percent, in 2018. Another $17,150 came from other unspecified sources.
