Analysis: Hillside pays $6.14 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Hillside Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.8 percent of the $1,685,344 the Hillside Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.14 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Hillside contributed $1,445,650 to the fund, which saw a $175,098 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $235,170, or 14 percent, in 2018. Another $4,524 came from other unspecified sources.
