Analysis: Franklin Park pays $5.95 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Leyden FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.5 percent of the $710,468 the Leyden FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.95 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Franklin Park contributed $607,195 to the fund, which saw a $1,532 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $101,924, or 14.3 percent, in 2018. Another $1,349 came from other unspecified sources.
