Analysis: Maywood pays $8.87 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Maywood Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 89.7 percent of the $2,852,681 the Maywood Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $8.87 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Maywood contributed $2,558,271 to the fund, which saw a $131,245 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $288,221, or 10.1 percent, in 2018. Another $6,189 came from other unspecified sources.
