Analysis: Western Springs pays $6.40 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Western Springs Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.4 percent of the $1,402,300 the Western Springs Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.40 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Western Springs contributed $1,211,087 to the fund, which saw a $128,975 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $188,992, or 13.5 percent, in 2018. Another $2,221 came from other unspecified sources.
