Berwyn North School District 98 Board of Education met April 30.

CALL TO ORDER: Meeting began at 6:34 p.m. with the pledge of allegiance led by Member Mounce.
COMMUNICATIONS
A. Ms. Michelle Smith, Superintendent communicated to the Board and community via video conference that the Berwyn North School Psychologists as a group created “The School Psychologist Newsletter.” This newsletter goes out to all District 98 families as a resource in these trying times. It is in two languages English and Spanish. This newsletter was carefully and professionally developed to assist parents and students cope with the COVID-19 Pandemic.
B. Ms. Smith also informed the Board and community that Havlicek Elementary School has received a donation for students from Enchanted Backpack. Havlicek also participated in the donation of overhead sheets to organizations making face shields for first responders.
PUBLIC COMMENT
A. Gina Parker, NBEA President and Physical Education teacher at Prairie Oak greeted the Board as her monthly check-in.
B. Donna Miller, Teacher at Havlicek introduced herself to the Board and community.
BOARD COMMENT
A. Member Cuevas wanted to express to the Board and community the great work Superintendent Smith’s has been doing to stay ahead of this pandemic.
