Village of Franklin Park Fire & Police Commission met Oct. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

Call to order: The meeting for the Fire & Police Commission was called to order by Commissioner Maritza Souchet at 6:04 pm.

Roll Call / Quorum: Present is Commissioner Maritza Souchet, Commissioner Guillermo Rios and Secretary Margarita Whaley. Commissioner lrene Herrera came in at 6:07, Also present Director of Police Mike V/itz and Trustee Bill Ruhl. Also present: Michael Souchet.

Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the September 3,2019 was made by Commissioner Souchet with a second by Commissioner Rios. Motion passed.

Communications:

Director Witzz Inquired about our last 13 police candidates, Secretary Whaley said the final list has been posted at the village. Also Secretary gave the Sergeant testing dates and will give reading materials to Director Witz later in the week. After Trustee Ruhl's comments, noted the Security Guard at the school did an outstanding job apprehending the perpetrator of the stabbing.

Trustee Ruhl : Mentioned the stabbing incident at the school and the wonderful job that the police, fire and school staff in saving the life of the child stabbed in the incident.

Adjournment: Motion to adjourn at 6:08 pm made by Commissioner Souchet and seconded by Commissioner Rios with all in favor.
