City of Countryside issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.
The IHB Railroad has advised that they will be closing East Avenue at 47th Street today in order to perform emergency track maintenance to repair a broken rail. The IHB anticipates that the repair will be completed by 2 p.m. at which time the roadway will be reopened to traffic. Please use an alternative route.
