Berwyn North School District 98 Board of Education met May 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education Members of Berwyn North School District 98 was held Saturday, May 18, 2019, beginning at 8:00 AM in the District Office.

I. CALL TO ORDER

Meeting began at 8:19 a.m.

II. ROLL CALL

Members Present: Swade, Arenella, Paul-Emile, Cuevas, Pabon, Kulis-Kearns Valeriano and Mounce

Member Early Leave: Member Pabon left closed session at 2:50 p.m.

III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by: Member Mounce

IV. PUBLIC COMMENT

Member Cuevas thanked the board for their dedication and time.

V. EXECUTIVE SESSION

A. ADJOURMENT MOTION TO EXECUTIVE SESSION

Member Paul-Emile moved and seconded by member Arenella that the Special Board Meeting of the Board of Education, School District 98 adjourn to Executive session at 8:20 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019 for the purpose of discussing the following items:

1. The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5ILCS 120/2(c) (1). (Open Meetings Act Exception #1)

ROLL CALL:

Ayes: Swade, Arenella, Paul-Emile, Cuevas, Kulis-Kearns Valeriano, Pabon and Mounce.

VI. MOTION TO RECONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION

Member Paul-Emile moved and was seconded by Member Arenella that the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, District 98 reconvenes from Executive Session at 3:36 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019.

ROLL CALL:

Ayes: Swade, Arenella, Paul-Emile, Cuevas, Valeriano, and Mounce

VII. MOTION TO ADJOURN

Member Paul-Emile moved and was seconded by Member Arenella that Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, District 98, adjourn at 3:38 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019.
