City of Berwyn City Council met June 25.

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education Members of Berwyn North School District 98 was held Tuesday, June 4, 2019, beginning at 6:00 PM in the District Office.
I. CALL TO ORDER
Meeting began at 6:18 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL
Members Present: Mounce, Arenella, Paul-Emile, Cuevas, and Kulis-Kearns Valeriano
Members Late: Arenella arrived 6:20 p.m. and Pabon arrived at 6:32 p.m.
Member Early Leave: Member Kulis-Kearns Valeriano left closed session at 11:41 p.m.
III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was let by: Member Mounce
IV. PUBLIC COMMENT
Principals Stephanie Mitchell, Jessica Hartless and Venus Smith spoke to the Board regarding elementary building staff opinions regarding the selection of the Superintendent. They came together as a unit to dispel rumors floating around in their respective buildings.
Members arrived late: Arenelle at 6:20 p.m. and Pabon at 6:32 p.m.
V. ADJOURMENT MOTION TO EXECUTIVE SESSION
Member Cuevas moved and seconded by member Paul-Emile that the Special Board Meeting of the Board of Education, School District 98 adjourn to Executive session at 6:35 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019 for the purpose of discussing the following items:
1. The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5ILCS 120/2(c) (1). (Open Meetings Act Exception #1)
ROLL CALL:
Swade, Arenella, Paul-Emile, Cuevas, Kulis-Kearns Valeriano, Pabon and Mounce.
Member Kulis-Kearns Valeriano left closed session at 11:41 p.m.
VI. MOTION TO RECONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION
Member Arenella moved and was seconded by Member Paul-Emile that the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, District 98 reconvenes from Executive Session at 11:42 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019.

VII. MOTION TO ADJOURN
Member Paul-Emile moved and was seconded by Member Arenella that Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, District 98, adjourn at 11:57 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
