The data shows that the 22 released offenders living in the Elmwood Park zip code were men. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 40. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 67-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2018.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jamaal Cannon. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2015, when he was 30 years old. He is now 34.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
