The data shows that 929 men and 78 women were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes, three were veterans, and the median age was 40. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 72-year-old man sentenced in 2017.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Eric Blackmon. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2004 when he was 22 years old. He is now 37.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
