The data shows that 215 men and 26 women were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons, four were veterans, and the median age was 36. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old woman sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 63-year-old man sentenced in 2017.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Wilfredo Sanchez. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2001 when he was 21 years old. He is now 38.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
