July-Dec. 2018 Recap: Parolees in Berwyn convicted of crimes involving weapons
The data shows that nine men were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving weapons, one is a veteran, and the median age is 32. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2014.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Heliodoro Cuellar. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2014 when he was 46 years old. He is now 51.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
