Q1 2018 Recap: Parolees in Chicago convicted of sex crimes

There were three offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Chicago during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Cook News.

The data shows that three men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 39. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 63-year-old man sentenced in 2011.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Regan Boose. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2011 when he was 54 years old. He is now 63.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q1 2018 who were convicted of sex crimes.
