Q3 2018 Recap: Parolees in Chicago convicted of crimes against justice

There were 33 offenders convicted of crimes against justice released on parole in Chicago during the third quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Cook News.

The data shows that 30 men and three women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 38. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 68-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Billy Walker. He was convicted of a crime against justice in 2017 when he was 24 years old. He is now 26.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q3 2018 who were convicted of crimes against justice.
