Berkeley home prices rise in May 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2017 in Berkeley rose by $88,500 while total sales increased by 300%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2017, there were eight homes sold, with a median sale price of $198,250 - a 80.6% increase over the $109,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were two homes sold in Berkeley in May 2016.

The median sales tax in Berkeley for 2017 was $4,582. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,964. This marks an increase of 15.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.3%.
