Berkeley home prices fall in January 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in January 2017 in Berkeley fell by $10,000 while total sales decreased by 14.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In January 2017, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $140,000 - a 6.7% decrease over the $150,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were seven homes sold in Berkeley in January 2016.

The median sales tax in Berkeley for 2017 was $4,582. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,964. This marks an increase of 15.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.3%.
