The price of local government in 2016: Leyden Township

The Leyden Township budget was $11.57 million for its 2016 fiscal year.

That's a decrease of 28.8 percent from 2015, when the township spent $16.26 million.

Leyden Township has a population of 92,890.

Since 2002, the Leyden Township budget has fallen by 11.2 percent, from $13.04 million. The township population has grown 4.5 percent over the same period, from 88,850.

Salaries accounted for 24.8 percent of township spending in 2016. Leyden Township property taxpayers paid $2.87 million for 38 full-time employees and 29 part-time employees.
