City of Northlake City Council met March 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

Present: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Padilla, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Werba

Others Present: Nancy Pauletto, City Clerk Carol Lampard, Finance Director Mark Sterk, Attorney Norm Nissen, Chief Of Police Dale Roberts, Superintendent Public Works

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on March 4, 2019. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held March 4, 2019; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Alderman Patti made a motion to appoint Rick Riesterer to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning and Economic Development Commission; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Padilla, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Werba

Nays: None

Motion To Appoint Rick Riesterer To The Zoning Board Of Appeals, Planning And Economic Development Commission Carried

An award plaque was presented to Deputy Chief Jay Militello, who is retiring after 30 years of service to the Police Department. Mayor Sherwin, then Chief Nissen, said a few words expressing their gratitude and offering their congratulations.

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Padilla, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Werba

Nays: None

Motion To Pay The Warrants And Vouchers Carried

Mayor Sherwin mentioned that on April 11th he is being inducted into the Triton College Wall of Fame.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve a Raffle License to the American Legion Post 888 to Sell Tickets for 2019 Queen of Hearts; seconded by Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-04-2019; An Ordinance Authorizing the Acquisition of Certain Real Property by Eminent Domain (231 E. Dewey Avenue); seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Padilla, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Werba

Nays: None

Motion To Approve Ordinance O-04-2019; An Ordinance Authorizing The Acquistion Of Certain Real Property By Eminent Domain (231 E. Dewey Avenue) Carried

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
