Western Springs home prices fall in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in Western Springs fell by $94,000 while total sales decreased by 17%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 39 homes sold, with a median sale price of $452,000 - a 17.2% decrease over the $546,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 47 homes sold in Western Springs in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Western Springs for 2017 was $10,034.03. In 2016, the median sales tax was $9,088.70. This marks an increase of 10.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.2%.
