The price of local government in 2017: Village of Berkeley

The Village of Berkeley budget was $12.94 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $7,422 per household.

That's an increase of 10.1 percent from 2016, when the village spent $11.75 million, or $6,740 per household.

Berkeley has 1,744 households and a population of 5,148.

Since 2001, the Village of Berkeley budget has grown by 14 percent, from $11.35 million. The village population has fallen 1.8 percent over the same period, from 5,245.
