The People Over Politics Party, founded to support candidates for office in Orland Park, is celebrating a Cook County judge's decision to reinstate it slate of candidates in April's municipal election, according to a party press release.

"The slate of William Healy, Michael Milani and Cynthia Nelson Katsenes will be punch numbers 1, 2 and 3," the press release said about Orland Park's upcoming municipal election April 2. "In the order of reinstatement the Judge stated 'There is no confusion whatsoever. These three candidates are to be placed on the ballot."

The judge's decision to reinstate the slate is "a strong victory for democracy," the press release said.

"The judge's ruling overturns a blatant power grab by long-time political forces within Orland Park who continue to obstruct and obfuscate for their own personal gain," the press release continued. The release also blamed as "chief among them" Orland Park Clerk John C. Mehalek and Trustee Kathleen M. Fenton, "who despite gathering signatures for the opposing slate refused to recuse themselves from hearing the case at the Orland Park Election Board."
