Report: Berkeley spent $10,891 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Berkeley School District 87 is up 27.9 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $8,515 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,891 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2829 to 2733.

Berkeley's spending in 2017-18 was 18.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
