Village of Hillside President and Board of Trustees met will meet December 17

Village of Hillside President and Board of Trustees will meet on Monday, Dec. 17.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

Approval Or Correction Of Minutes for Regular Meeting of November 26, 2018.

Village Clerk:

A. Reminder: The Village Offices will be closed Saturday,

December 22; Monday, December 24; and Tuesday, December 25, 2018 in observance of Christmas Holiday.

B. Reminder: The Village Offices will be closed Saturday, December 29; Monday, December 31, 2018; and Tuesday, anuary 1, 2019, in observance of New Year Holiday.

CONSENT AGENDA

All items on the consent Agenda are considered to be routine in nature and will be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Board member so requests, in which event, the item will be removed from the consent Agenda and considered a part of the Board Member's committee business.

1. Illinois Department of Revenue: Sales tax returns for month of October, 2018, in the amount of $380,973.03. Amount received for October, 2017, in the amount of $368, 754.58.

2. Illinois Department of Transportation: Motor Fuel Tax allotment for the month of November, 2018, in the amount of $18,399.14.

3. Approval of gross payroll for period November 24, through December 7, 2018, in the amount of $294,821.38.

4. Payment of bills for the month of December, 2018, in the amount of $820,358.13 

Com Ed: Utility tax for the month of September, 2018, in the amount of $39,992.26.

6. NiCor Gas: Utility Tax for the month of November, 2018, in the amount of $8,235.41.Excise Tax for the month of October 2018, has not yet been released.

1. Second reading of Tax Levy Ordinance 18-19, for FY 2018-19, in the amount of $12,078, 245.00.

2. Motion to approve Board meeting schedules and anticipated changes for 2019 to include May, in observance of Memorial Day; November, in observance of Veterans Day; and December, in observance of Christmas Holiday.

3. Motion to approve National League of Cities membership dues for period February 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020, in the amount of $1,150.51.

B. Public Services Committee: (Trustee Walter)

1. Motion to approve payment in the amount of $48,883.35 to Robert E. Lee and Sons, Co., 5721 Bohlander Avenue, Berkeley, IL 60163, for work performed to replace curb, sidewalk and miscellaneous concrete items at various locations within the Village.

2. Motion to approve final payment in the amount of $29,982.45 to Waukegan Roofing Company Inc., 252 Chaddick Drive, Wheeling, Illinois 60090, for work performed on the Fire House Roofing Project.

3. Motion to approve payment in the amount of $141,655.02 to Brothers Asphalt Paving Inc., located at 315 S. Stewart Avenue, Addison, IL, for work performed on the 2018 Madison Water Main Improvements, contingent on Brothers Asphalt providing the necessary waiver of liens.

4. Motion to approve payment in the amount of $792,431.56 to Brothers Asphalt Paving Inc., located at 315 S. Stewart Avenue, Addison, IL, for work performed on the 2018 Reconstruction Project, contingent on Brothers Asphalt providing the necessary waiver of liens.

5. Motion to approve payment of Pay Application 4 in the amount of $9,450.50 and Pay Application 5 (Final) in the amount of $ 17,598.50 to A-One Group, LTD., 1540 Jarvis Avenue, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 for work performed on the Village Hall and Police Station façade repairs.

c. Public Safety and Education Committee: (Trustee Watson)

1. The Hillside Fire Department wants to commend Captain Howard Murray and Firefighter Jeff Kubistal on a job well done while on a medical call to one of our senior residents. They noticed she did not have food in the house, and contacted Social Services. They then proceeded to go to Target to buy food with their own money, showing great service to our residents.

2. There will not be a Community Awareness Meeting this month due to the Christmas Holiday.

D. Zoning Committee: (Trustee Lomeli)

E. Technology Committee: (Trustee Delgado)

1. Motion to approve Capers Annual Maintenance Agreement, period covering 1/30/2019 to 1/29/2020, for the amount of $19,160.00.

2. Motion to approve Chicago Office Technology Group, 3 Territorial Court, Bolingbrook, IL 60440, for a five-year contract to replace all 10 printers/ copiers for a monthly total of $2,549.00. Previous monthly contract was $2,626.95.

F. Community Services Committee: (Trustee Farries)

1. Reminder: The Village of Hillside and Human Relations Commission will be hosting the 17th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast, Monday, January 21, 2019, 8:30 a.m., at the Best Western Hotel, 4400 Frontage Road, Hillside. Tickets are $12 per person, and available for purchase at the Village Hall until Tuesday, January 8, 2019. No tickets will be sold at the door.

1 Motion to approve Ordinance 18-19, Tax Levy for FY 2018-19, in the amount of $12,078, 245.00, and authorizing Mayor and clerk to sign and execute same.

2. Motion to approve Ordinance 18-21, abating $220,650.00 tax levied for the year 2018 to pay the debt service on $1,635,000.00, General Obligation Bonds (alternate revenue source) Series 2017A of the village of Hillside, Cook County, Illinois, and authorizing Mayor and Clerk to sign and execute same.

3. Motion to approve Resolution 18-09, providing for the retirement of certain municipal indebtedness $220,650.00, by the use of Motor Fuel Tax Funds $1,635,000.00, General Obligation Bonds (alternate revenue source, Series 2017A), and authorizing Mayor and clerk to sign and execute same.

1. Motion to approve Ordinance 18-17, Amending Sec. 90-81.1 Vehicle Seizure and Impoundment, and authorizing Mayor and clerk to sign and execute same.
