Retired Forest Park SD 91 employee Anne Duff-Dorneker saved $22,011 toward her pension over 27 years working for public schools, Illinois Teachers' Retirement Fund (TRS) records show.
Over 35 years of retirement, Duff-Dorneker would collect as much as $493,000 million, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes West Cook News.
Duff-Dorneker, 60, who currently lives in Forest Park, earned $6,255 in her final year at Forest Park SD 91.
The projection assumes Duff-Dorneker will receive $7,646 in her first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.
After three years of retirement, Duff-Dorneker will have already received $23,634 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of her contributions to the state teachers' pension fund.
According to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), 24.5 percent of Forest Park SD 91 students met or exceeded the standards for the "PARCC" exams.
