Schiller Park Committee of the Whole met Sept. 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER: 

President Nick Caiafa called the meeting to order at 6:14 P.M.

II. ROLL CALL: 

Upon a call of the roll by the Village Clerk, the following Elected Officials were: Present: President Nick Caiafa, Trustees: Moses Diaz, Russel Klug, Joan Golembiewski, Robert Lima, Catherine Gorzynski, and Village Clerk Rosa Jos

Absent: Trustee Tom Deegan President Caiafa declared a quorum present. Also present: Joe Montana, Corporate Counsel, Brad Townsend, Village Manager, Anna Gorzkowicz, Assistant Finance Director

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

1. Trustee Golembiewski moved, seconded by Trustee Diaz that the MINUTES of the Committee of the Whole Meeting of September 6, 2018 be approved.

Upon roll call the following voted: Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Lima, and Gorzynski Absent: Trustee Deegan Nay: None President Caiafa declared the motion carried.

IV. PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD:

No one to be heard.

V. BUSINESS:

The following discussions took place:

1. The Tollway project is moving forward; future Oasis plans were discussed.

2. Demolition has started on the Allegra Banquets property.

3. Proposal from IC and SC for a 10 year renewal agreement for revenue, location, conditions, and maintenance of bus shelters in Schiller Park.

4. Mayor Caiafa stated that Janet Matthys has completed the audit preparation for Schiller Park. In non-allocated money, the Village went from $8.9 million in 2013 to $486,000. The Mayor would like to keep Matthys for a while longer to assist with the budget and to help dedicate revenue for infrastructure. 5. Adjustments in licensing fees for Billboards in the Village.

VI. EXECUTIVE SESSION:

Trustee Golembiewski moved, seconded by Trustee Lima to adjourn into Executive Session in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, pursuant to Sec. 2-C-2 Collective Bargaining Negotiations Matters. Upon roll call the following voted: Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Lima, and Gorzynski Absent: Trustee Deegan Nay: None President Caiafa declared the motion carried.

The President and Board of Trustees adjourned to Closed Session at 6:51 P.M.

RECONVENE: At 6:58 P.M. following the Closed Session, the President reconvened the public portion of the Meeting.

Upon a call of the roll by the Village Clerk, the following Elected Officials were:

President Nick Caiafa, Trustees: Moses Diaz, Russ Klug, Joan Golembiewski, Robert Lima, Catherine Gorzynski, and Village Clerk Rosa Jos

Absent:

Trustee Tom Deegan

President Caiafa declared a quorum present. Also present: Joe Montana, Corporate Counsel, Brad Townsend, Village Manager, Police Director Tom Fragakis, Police Sergeant Jon Kubycheck Trustee Klug expressed his concerns regarding trucks that are currently going through residential streets. Sargent Kubycheck gave an update on overweight truck citations.

VII. ADJOURNMENT:

With no further business to conduct, it was moved by Trustee Gorzynski, seconded by Trustee Lima, that the Committee of the Whole Meeting be adjourned. Upon roll call the following voted: Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Lima, and Gorzynski Absent: Trustee Deegan Nay: None President Caiafa declared the motion carried and this Committee of the whole Meeting was adjourned at 7:07 P.M.
