TRITON COLLEGE: Triton’s SURGE Program Seeking Mentors

Triton College issued the following announcement on Sept. 5.

Triton College’s Sisterhood of Undergraduate Representing Great Excellence (SURGE) Program invites you to mentor college students interested in the fields of science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) as well as in career and technical fields.

As a mentor you will:

Educate college students about your career field

Inform students about career pathways and the college experience

Participate in weekly coaching

Mentor orientation will take place on Friday, Sept. 21, from 2-3 p.m. in Room B-270 of the Triton College Student Center.

Triton’s SURGE program supports female minority students enrolled in careers and technical education programs. Students enrolled in SURGE receive academic support, one-on-one mentoring and coaching, career exploration and development, and assistance in transitioning to a four-year institution or into the workforce.
