Franklin Park School District 84 students suspended 22 times in a single school year

Franklin Park School District 84 reported 22 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 22 students during the year. That equates to 1.7 percent of the 1,301 students enrolled.

Of the 10 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 10 incidents. For eight incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 12 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes eight incidents. There were one incidents of alcohol. For seven incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
