How much has Komarek SD 94 overspent over the past 10 years?

Komarek School District 94 accumulated $4.67 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a West Cook News analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Komarek SD 94 reported 18.6 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went up 45 percent.
