How much has Riverside-Brookfield Twp SD 208 overspent over the past 10 years?

Riverside-Brookfield Township High School District 208 accumulated $45.38 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a West Cook News analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Riverside-Brookfield Twp SD 208 reported 13.2 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went down 15.7 percent. The resulting deficit shrunk by 83.6 percent from 2008 to 2017.
