WHAT: Berwyn’s Best Seafood Contest – Round 1

WHY: The US Department of Health recommends eating two servings of seafood a week. Why? Seafood is not
only low in fat, high in protein and jam packed with vitamins and minerals, but it's delicious too! The next
round of Berwyn’s Best has you covered! We’re taking a dive into deep sea inspired dishes with Berwyn’s
Best Seafood. Seafood is an easy meal choice when there are various ways to eat it. From wood grilled to
sandwich style to salads and pastas, the options are aplenty in Berwyn. There can only be one winner,
though—help the BDC find the most sensational seafood fare in our quest to find Berwyn’s Best Seafood.
Berwyn’s Best Seafood Contest takes place in two rounds. Round 1 includes Berwyn-based restaurants that
agreed to take part in the contest. Establishments must offer seafood on their regular menus. The
participating locations are:

Round 1 is a multiple choice poll that asks the public to select up to five of their favorite Berwyn
establishments that serve seafood on the menu. The poll is open until Friday, June 8 at 5:00 PM. The five
most popular businesses advance to the second round. In Round 2, the Top 5 will identify their favorite
specialty seafood dish that will be used in a second round of voting. Round 2 will bring together a group of
local judges for a single taste-test event to compare each serving of seafood side-by-side. Their scores along
with another public poll vote will determine the seafood that will be crowned as “Berwyn’s Best.”
“Berwyn’s Best” is a promotional program managed by the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC). Look
for additional Berwyn’s Best programming to sample all of the fantastic cuisine in our community.
