Report: Lyons spent $12,063 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Lyons School District 103 is up 18 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $10,219 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,063 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2515 to 2502.

Lyons's spending in 2016-17 was 7 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
