Report: Leyden spent $17,595 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Leyden Community High School District 212 is down 2 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $17,957 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,595 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3545 to 3321.

Leyden's spending in 2016-17 was 36 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
