Report: Mannheim spent $16,489 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Mannheim School District 83 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $15,078 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $16,489 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 2678 to 2789.

Mannheim's spending in 2016-17 was 27 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
