Report: Oak Park spent $14,249 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Oak Park Elementary School District 97 is up 10 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $12,969 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $14,249 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 5820 to 6146.

Oak Park's spending in 2016-17 was 10 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
