Report: Riverside spent $13,598 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Riverside School District 96 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $12,285 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,598 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1618 to 1734.

Riverside's spending in 2016-17 was 5 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
