Report: River Grove spent $12,704 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at River Grove School District 85-5 is up 21 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $10,469 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,704 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 609 to 704.

River Grove's spending in 2016-17 was 2 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
