Analysis: Western Springs pays $4.82 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Western Springs Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.8 percent of the $1,103,603 the Western Springs Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.82 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Western Springs contributed $914,178 to the fund, which saw a $6,138 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $189,425, or 17.2 percent, in 2016.
