Analysis: Oak Park pays $6.70 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Oak Park Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.2 percent of the $4,335,303 the Oak Park Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.70 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Oak Park contributed $3,779,495 to the fund, which saw a $333,114 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $563,721, or 13 percent, in 2016.
