Analysis: Melrose Park pays $4.12 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Melrose Park Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.2 percent of the $3,171,884 the Melrose Park Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.12 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Melrose Park contributed $2,544,568 to the fund, which saw a $221,258 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $616,461, or 19.4 percent, in 2016. Another $10,855 came from other unspecified sources.
