Analysis: Hillside pays $4.07 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Hillside Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.3 percent of the $1,033,905 the Hillside Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.07 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Hillside contributed $830,329 to the fund, which saw a $53,696 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $203,576, or 19.7 percent, in 2016.
