Analysis: Forest View pays $29.52 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Forest View Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 97.3 percent of the $289,054 the Forest View Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $29.52 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Forest View contributed $281,211 to the fund, which saw a $134,008 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $9,526, or 3.3 percent, in 2016.
