Village of Schiller Park Committee of the Whole met March 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

I.Call To Order:

In the absence of the Mayor, Trustee Gorzynski called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m.

II.Roll Call:

Upon a call of the roll by the Village Clerk, the following Elected Officials were:

Present: President Nick Caiafa (arrived at 6:55 p.m.), Trustees: Moses Diaz, Russel Klug, Joan Golembiewski, Tom Deegan, Robert Lima, Catherine Gorzynski, and Village Clerk Rosa Jos

Absent: None

Trustee Gorzynski declared a quorum present.

Also present: Joe Montana, Corporate Counsel, Brad Townsend, Village Manager

III. Approval Of Minutes:

Trustee Klug moved, seconded by Trustee Deegan that the Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Meeting of February 15th, 2018 be approved.

Upon roll call the following voted:

Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski

Absent: None

Nay: None

Trustee Gorzynski declared the motion carried.

IV. Public Member Wishing To Be Heard:

No one to be heard.

V. Business:

1. The Mayor would like to have in place a Responsible Bidder Guideline Ordinance. Bidders would need to be in compliance with the requirements of the Village Code guidelines and have a level of expertise. This is to ensure we get competent contractors that are responsive as well as responsible.

2. The Village Manager gave a quick report on Traffic Photo enforcement.

3. Trustee Gorzynski reported that after researching other municipalities, we will be looking at the possibility of updating the liquor licensing application.

4. Corporate Counsel and the Village Manager explained to the Board the functions of the TIF Joint Review Board, and what their meeting consists of.

5. The following items were also discussed:

a. Village Ordinance regarding Hotel and Motel Taxes.

b. BP Gas Station has been put on hold by the state fire marshal - they were operating without the proper permits.

c. Motel 6 was asked to bring their building up to code - fix all the standing violations.

d. The Board's concerns about the delinquent water bills in the Village.

e. The status on a few businesses in town.

VI. Executive Session:

There was no executive session.

VII. Adjournment:

With no further business to conduct, it was moved by Trustee Diaz, seconded by Trustee Golembiewski, that the Committee of the Whole Meeting be adjourned.

Upon roll call the following voted:

Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski

Absent: None

Nay: None

President Caiafa declared the motion carried and this Committee of the Whole Meeting was adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
